2014 Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra and Mahindra, the car making company which is popular in making SUV have recently come up with a plan. The plan is to develop its old off-road SUV, Bolero into a new one by 2015. Bolero in real sense is a car which has ruled the off roads in India. M&M’s Bolero is the best selling SUV among all the other SUVs. So to cope up with the launch of the new technology based SUVs in the market and to hold its position intact, M&M have decided to make it better in all areas without changing the DNA. It is expected that the new bolero will be grounds up with new design and will be based on a all new chassis which is expected to be lighter but yet stronger than the present tubular ladder frame chassis. According to sources it has come to be known that M&M is developing a new generation hydro-formed ladder chassis which will help all its body-on SUVs in the future.


The 2015 Mahindra Bolero will be launched in India by 2015 with major changes. It is supposed to use a derivative of the mHAWK engine which is becoming the constant engine for every Mahindra’s products. Presently, the Bolero uses the old 2523 cc DI Turbo Diesel engine which gives an output of 63 HP @ 3200 rpm and a maximum torque of 180 Nm @ 1440-1500 rpm and also the new diesel engine of 1461cc common rail direct engine that delivers a maximum power of 83.8 bhp.
M&M has also decided to keep the cost low and thus as much as parts shall be shared with the other Mahindra’s SUVs. But major attention is being given on the fuel efficiency of the car as well as the overall cost of ownership. It has been 12 years since the launch of Bolero but yet it is the best selling SUV till now which not only amazes the industry experts but also its company, Mahindra and Mahindra. Bolero’s 1, 07,890 units have been sold in the past 12 months which is great but at the same time unusual.
Mahindra Bolero is the popular rugged SUV among all the other SUVs in India. It has also gone through a recent cosmetic facelift. Now the new Bolero has new bumpers, and a front grille like a honeycomb mesh look, the new headlamps looks the eyes of that of a Hawk, and a body graphics which resemble a normal SUV. The Bolero carries a robust look and with boxy type figure with a tilting front. The logo of the Mahindra rests on the centre of the front grille. The mud fender of the front bumpers provides the car with a rugged image. The Bolero is a very stylish and luxurious car from inside. The seats are placed a bit higher than the usual. There is seating facility for seven people.
Mahindra’s SUVs are not only long lasting but also popular in countries like Australia, Europe, America and South Africa other than India.
